Location: Senegal, West Africa
Project Focus: Waste-to-Energy Transformation

Our Role: Financial Management Consultancy

Project Overview

The project's primary objective is to establish and operate a modern anaerobic digestion facility for fermenting organic waste and harnessing energy. This objective will be realised by integrating a Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) garbage sorting line into the biogas-powered electric plant.

The location for the MSW processing power plant is being considered near the municipal dumpsite.

Its multifaceted impact will encompass improvements in the local ecological conditions of water, soil, and air, primarily achieved through a reduction in landfill areas, efficient resource recycling, and greenhouse gas capture.

Responsibilities

Feasibility Study: We undertook an extensive feasibility study to assess the project's viability, ensuring that every aspect aligns with environmental and financial sustainability.

Liaison with Authorities: Our experts facilitated seamless communication with regulatory bodies and local authorities, ensuring adherence to all necessary standards and regulations.

Fundraising: We played a pivotal role in securing vital funding for this groundbreaking initiative, garnering support from investors.

Structuring Business Model using SPV: We have played a crucial role in structuring the project's business model through the use of a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), optimising financial efficiency and ensuring the long-term success of this sustainable energy endeavor.

Project Overview

The thermal power plants located in India are facilities that generate electricity by burning coal. Thermal power plants operate on the classic principle of high performance and power. Coal is burned in a furnace to produce high-temperature and high-pressure steam. This steam is then passed through a steam turbine, which drives a generator to produce electricity. The process is continuous, and the power plants can generate electricity without interruption.

Using coal offer benefits such as high reliability and affordability as coal is relatively cheap and abundant.

Responsibilities

Due Diligence and Feasibility Study: We conducted comprehensive due diligence and a thorough feasibility study to evaluate the project's viability. This rigorous process ensures that all aspects of both environmental and financial sustainability are seamlessly aligned.
